Arngrímur Vídalín is assistant professor of Old Norse and medieval Icelandic literature at the University of Iceland, School of Education.

I have previously worked as an adjunct professor (2019-2022) and as an external lecturer at the University of Iceland (2013-2017). In 2018 I taught Icelandic literature and grammar full time at Breiðholt Community College in Reykjavík, after which I held the position in Icelandic at Keilir Academy in Iceland where I taught Old Norse-Icelandic literature from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. I have also worked as an independent researcher at the Reykjavík Academy.

I was visiting scholar at the University of Copenhagen (2014 and 2018), a visiting lecturer at the University of Silesia in Katowice (2016) and a visiting scholar at Harvard University (2016).

I am currently working on a book about Grettis saga, aimed at researchers, students and the general public alike, as well as a critical edition of the 14th century manuscript AM 194 8vo.
