I am Dr. Arngrímur Vídalín.

I am a Reykjavík native, Master of Nordic languages and literature from Aarhus University and Doctor of Philosophy in Icelandic literature from the University of Iceland.

I am adjunct professor at the University of Iceland, Faculty of Subject Teacher Education in the School of Education. Previously I have been an external lecturer at the University of Iceland (2013-2017). In 2018 I taught Icelandic literature and grammar full time at Breiðholt Community College in Reykjavík, after which I held the position in Icelandic at Keilir Academy in Iceland where I taught Old Norse-Icelandic literature from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. I have also worked as an independent researcher at the Reykjavík Academy.

I have previously been visiting scholar at the University of Copenhagen (2014 and 2018), a visiting lecturer at the University of Silesia in Katowice (2016) and a visiting scholar at Harvard University (2016).

I am currently working on a book about Grettis saga, aimed at researchers, students and the general public alike, as well as a critical edition of the 14th century manuscript AM 194 8vo.
